چکیده

In this paper we present the data management tasks and tools used in a flood prediction application of the CROSSGRID project. The application consists of a computational core a cascade of three simulation stages, a workflow manager, two user interfaces and a data management suite. The project is based on the Grid technology, especially the Globus toolkit 2.4 and 3.2 and the EU DataGrid project. The paper begins with brief introduction to the application, its architecture and used technology. Most of the rest of the paper then describes in detail the various data management problems of the application and their solutions. The paper is concluded with a brief description of planned future work.

Stream Flow Prediction in Flood Plain by Using Artificial Neural Network (Case Study: Sepidroud Watershed)

In order to determine hydrological behavior and water management of Sepidroud River (North of Iran-Guilan) the present study has focused on stream flow prediction by using artificial neural network. Ten years observed inflow data (2000-2009) of Sepidroud River were selected; then these data have been forecasted by using neural network. Finally, predicted results are compared to the observed dat...

Risk analysis of urban flood in Bandar Abbas using Machine Learning model and Analytic Hierarchy Process

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Floods are one of the natural events that cause human casualties and damage to buildings, facilities, gardens, fields, and natural resources every year. Urbanization disturbs the balance of slopes through indirect intrusion within watersheds, kills vegetation, soil compaction, and changes in the profile of waterways, increases the severity of floods, and incr...

Zonation of Flood Susceptibility and Determining the Factors Affecting it Using the Maximum Entropy Method

Karaj dam basin in Alborz province is prone to destructive floods given to its special topographic and anthropogenic conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine the areas with flood susceptibility potential and prioritize the factors affecting it using the maximum entropy method. 14 factors affecting flood potential selection and linear testing Factors were analyzed by variance inflat...

Web-based hydrological modeling system for flood forecasting and risk mapping

Mechanism of flood forecasting is a complex system, which involves precipitation, drainage characterizes, land use/cover types, ground water and runoff discharge. The application of flood forecasting model require the efficient management of large spatial and temporal datasets, which involves data acquisition, storage, pre-processing and manipulation, analysis and display of model results. The ...

Climate informed flood frequency analysis and prediction in Montana using hierarchical Bayesian modeling

[1] It is widely acknowledged that climate variability modifies the frequency spectrum of extreme hydrologic events. Traditional hydrological frequency analysis methods do not account for year to year shifts in flood risk distributions that arise due to changes in exogenous factors that affect the causal structure of flood risk. We use Hierarchical Bayesian Analysis to evaluate several factors ...
